Dallas Maverick Cooper Flagg Ties NBA Record for a Teenager
Last night the Dallas Mavericks honored Mark Aguirre by retiring his number and Cooper Flagg broke Mark's record on his own night.
Well if you didn't tune into the Dallas Mavericks game on Thursday night, you missed one hell of a game. If you grew up watching the Mavericks in the 1980's, one of the biggest players of that decade was Mark Aguirre. His number and name now officially hang at the top of American Airlines Center.
A part of last night was honoring the legacy of this Mavericks legend. Well the new rookie Mavericks sensation Cooper Flagg broke one of Mark's records on his big night. Back on November 14, 1981 Mark Aguirre set the Mavericks rookie scoring record in a game with 42 points. Cooper Flagg actually tied that record just a few weeks ago on December 15, 2025 against the Jazz. Well Cooper broke the record last night for the Mavericks and also tied a NBA record as well.

Cooper not only took Mark's record last night. He also tied the mark for all teenagers in NBA history. My favorite highlight last night actually came from the Charlotte broadcast daring Cooper to shoot a game tying three at the end of the game.

Unfortunately this awesome shot didn't lead to a Mavericks win later on. The team would lose in heartbreaking fashion just shortly after tying it up. If any Dallas fans stayed up for it. The Stars did win in a shoot out in Vegas last night. You can watch that below.
