Rangers Fans Put Empty Beer Cans and Trash on Memorial Statue on Opening Day
Opening day is my favorite sports day of the entire year, it is also a time where people enjoy a little too much to drink and some Ranger fans decided to place their empty beer cans in the wrong place.
It was a beautiful day yesterday, I enjoyed it by watching some baseball. Specifically watching my Baltimore Orioles whoop up on the Boston Red Sox. It was weird former Texas Ranger, Nelson Cruz actually won them the game with a home run and some defensive plays. Believe me, I was shocked as well.
Well speaking of the Rangers their opening day was not as great. They lost to the Phillies in a very high scoring game, 14-10. What most people are talking about today is what happened before the game. A statue absolutely covered in trash, that honors the fan that lost his life going for a foul ball at Rangers stadium. One fan sent out the picture below and it is quickly going viral.
Now I don't go to that many Ranger games, unless they are playing my Orioles. I do however go to a lot of Dallas Cowboys games and I will admit I have seen A LOT of beer cans put in places they should not be. I know the Cowboys have a statue of Tom Landry outside of AT&t stadium and I have never seen that statue disrespected like this. I have a feeling we will be seeing an increase in garbage cans around all entrances in the coming season at Globe Life Park.
