Wichita Falls Trash Service to Resume Today After Snow/Ice

If you have been cooped up in the house going crazy and that trash is piling up. Your trash service will resume starting today with some slight changes.

Another day off for the kids in Wichita Falls, but it looks like the city is starting to resume some of their activities. City offices remain closed on this Wednesday, along with the Fallsride bus service not operating either. The city will make a decision on those opening up for Thursday tomorrow.

Updated Wichita Falls Trash Schedule Starting December 28th, 2026

The city will however be resuming their trash service starting today. If you normally get your trash picked up on Mondays, they will start picking up trash today starting at noon. If you're unable to get your trash put out today, here is the schedule for the rest of the week.

- Tuesday trash pickup will move to Thursday, January 29
- Thursday trash pickup will move to Friday, January 30
- Friday trash pickup will move to Saturday, January 31

The Wichita Falls City Landfill will open today starting at noon. However, the transfer station off of Lawrence Road will remain closed on this Wednesday. The City Landfill is located at 10984 Wiley Road.

Wichita Falls Municipal Court Cancels All Trials This Week

One thing that is for sure not happening this week is any trials with the Wichita Falls Municipal Court. If you were scheduled for jury duty, you have been excused this week.

WFISD To Make School Announcement for Thursday Between 4PM-5PM

We will wait and see if the Wichita Falls schools open for Thursday this afternoon. We go slightly above freezing today, but drop into the teens overnight once again tonight. The city is working hard to clear ice off of side streets, but the highway is very clear for anyone needing to get out today.
