Nintendo of America needs to take this idea seriously. Robin Williams was a part of one of your greatest advertising campaigns and this would be an amazing tribute.

Everyone was shocked by the death of Robin Williams last week and we have all seen his best clips from his best movies since then. What some of you may not know about Robin Williams was that he was a huge nerd that loved to play video games. He loved 'The Legend of Zelda' game so much he named his first daughter Zelda.

He told the story of when his wife was pregnant going out to buy a big screen TV and Nintendo Entertainment System. Robin Williams and his wife would spend hours playing 'The Legend of Zelda' and then one day they agreed it would be cool to name their first daughter after the princess. Years later we were treated to one of the coolest video game commercials ever.

Since Robin Williams has become such a huge part of the Zelda series, fans are now asking that a character in the upcoming game be named after him. A petition was started and now has over 100,000 signatures. Many fans have stated he won't be able to play the game, but this way he can live forever in a universe that he loved.

"Robin Williams was loved at Nintendo. Our hearts go out to his family and especially to Zelda Williams, who we've worked with multiple times," the company wrote. "We appreciate the outpouring of support from the gaming community, and hear the request of fans to honor him in a future game. We will not be discussing what might be possible for future games during this difficult time, but we will hold our memories of Robin close."

Nintendo of America are the ones in charge of localizing the Japanese subtitles over to English. Seriously even if it is just a small character with only one line, it would be an amazing tribute. Come on Nintendo, do the right thing.
