As I was writing this story this morning, several media outlets are reporting that Kimberly Cheatle has resigned. The Director of the Secret Service was subpoenaed yesterday for a hearing amongst the House Oversight Committee. For once, Republicans and Democrats all agreed on something. How could an assassination attempt like this happen in a such a public space? The vast majority of committee members asked for her resignation and it looks like she has done that around 9:30 this morning.

Pat Fallon is a Representative for Texas' Fourth District. Which compromises many counties just south of us. Since 2021, he has been a congressmen for Texas and yesterday was at the hearing for Kimberly Cheatle. Mr. Fallon had one of the more viral moments in the hearing yesterday in case you missed it.

Pat Fallon during his comments told the now former Director of the Secret Service that he recreated this assassination attempt from a sloped roof and was able to hit the target 15 out of 16 times. Obviously this story is a long way from over, but it appears that many got what they wanted from this hearing yesterday. Kim Cheatle is no longer the Director of the Secret Service.
