Getting Ready for Fall, When Will Leaves Start to Change in Texas?
Sure the weather is starting to cool down, pumpkin patches are opening up, but when will the leaves start to change?
Fall Officially Underway Right Now
Earlier this week it was technically the first day of Fall on September 22nd. All the fall activities are going on right now, but a lot of folks think the season officially starts when the leaves start to change. For us in Texas, that is not going to be for a few weeks.
Fall Foliage Prediction Map
SmokeyMountains.com is a great resource for tracking when the leaves will start to change throughout the country. For us in Texas, we won't really notice much until October 21st. Even then, it will not be the full vibrant fall colors you would want to see around this time of the year.
October 28th Foliage Predictor
Right near Halloween, all of Texas should start to see at least some changes in the leaves in their area.
November 4th Foliage Predictor
Parts of the Texas Panhandle will start to see tremendous fall colors in their leaves around November 4th.
November 11th Foliage Predictor
By November 11th, the vast majority of the country will be past their peak for fall foliage. For us in North Texas and our friends in Central Texas. We will be starting to hit our peak for the changing fall colors. So if fall doesn't start for you til the leaves change, you will be waiting a few more weeks for the season to kick in for you.
