
Popular Paramount Show to Receive First Ever Texas Made Award
Looks like a new award was announced just for television shows created in Texas. We have our first winner and it was one of the biggest shows of the year.

The ATX Television Festival has been an annual event in Austin since 2012. Screenings, Q&As, cast reunions, and industry panel discussions take place over four days. They also give out awards throughout the years, but this year they wanted to shine a light on Texas with a brand new award. The "Texas Made" Award celebrates individuals and productions with Texas ties who are creating professional opportunities for the creative community within the state, and bolstering Texas as a creative and cultural center through their work.
It was just announced that 'Landman' will be receiving the first ever 'Made in Texas' award. Not only was it the most streamed original show on Paramount+ this year. It also received national attention with a Golden Globe nomination. The show shows the dark side of the oil and gas industry through the lens of a “fixer,” played by the legendary Billy Bob Thornton.
Where Was Landman Filmed at in Texas?
While the majority of the filming took place in Fort Worth. Many of the oilfield scenes took place in Odessa. In fact, several scenes took place at Ratliff Stadium which most people know from 'Friday Night Lights'. The show is currently filming season 2 and is expected to be released in November of this year. An official release date has not been announced.
