Iowa Park Man Arrested for Online Impersonation
An Iowa Park man is facing felony charges of impersonating someone online after setting up a bogus Facebook account claiming to be Wichita Falls businessman Jody Wade.
KFDX reports that Thomas Cecil Sims set up a Facebook account under the name ‘Joe Deep Wade’ and used a police mugshot of Jody Wade for a profile picture. Wade reportedly had problems with Sims in the past, though the exact nature of those problems was not revealed.
Sims reportedly used his own cell phone number and drivers license number to set up the account. As of Wednesday, the account has been deleted by Facebook. The 49-year-old suspect was arrested Tuesday afternoon, posted a $10,000 bond a short time later and was released.
