Who doesn’t love a good old-fashioned conspiracy theory?

I’ve found that almost everyone has an opinion on the most popular conspiracy theories out there. From chemtrails to the faking of the moon landing to the Earth being flat, you’re guaranteed to spark lively conversation by bringing up a conspiracy theory.

So, I decided to do some digging in an attempt to find out what the most popular conspiracy theory is here in Texas and learned that it is the New World Order, according to a study conducted by USDIRECT.

While the New World Order isn’t new to me, I did want to delve a little deeper into the conspiracy theory and found myself going down a very deep rabbit hole. It was totally worth it, though. Just search “new world order” on Twitter and you’ll be entertained for hours.

I have to say, it’s probably the most complicated of all of the conspiracy theories. In a nutshell, the New World Order conspiracy theory revolves around a one-world, totalitarian government that’s secretly conspiring to take control. You can get a much more detailed look into the multiple layers of the theory on the New World Order Wikipedia page.

I’ve personally never found the New World Order conspiracy theory to be too far-fetched when it comes to the one-world government aspect. I do recall former President George H.W. Bush mentioning it while addressing the nation:

It kind of makes you wonder, doesn’t it?

But seriously, I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who think a one-world government would be a good thing. It’s just that I don’t know anyone who does.
