Drunk Champion Hammer Thrower Pays for Cab With His Gold Medal

I don't know how much a gold medal is worth, but I think the cab driver got one hell of a tip on this one.

Pawel Fajdek was competing in the World Athletics Championships in Bejing the other night. He took first place, when you win anything, you got to go out and celebrate. Well Pawel celebrated a little too hard and had to take a cab back to his place. When he reached his destination, he couldn't find anything to pay the driver. So he handed over his gold medal that he won earlier in the night.

When Pawel woke up, I am assuming with one hell of a hangover. He thought someone had stolen his gold medal. he contacted the authorities who helped him retrace his steps. They finally figured out what happened and the driver did give Pavel his gold medal back.

I hope Pavel gave that guy one hell of a tip.Thankfully the driver didn't sell off the medal to make some quick cash.
