While most shows are ending their current seasons, CBS is getting fans ready for the debut of their new show 'Supergirl' with a 6-minute promo.

According to the official synopsis,

It's not a bird. It's not a plane. It's not a man. It's Supergirl. In the new drama from the world of DC Comics, Superman's cousin, Kara Zor-El, embraces her superhuman abilities and becomes the hero she was always meant to be. This Fall on CBS.

'Supergirl' is set to debut on CBS in November in the Monday night at 8 p.m. time-slot, in direct competition with another DC Comics series, 'Gotham' on FOX.  Not sure the logic behind that decision.  That's like having a Starbucks across the street from another Starbucks (which has happened).  That seems more like a CBS decision than a DC/Warner Bros. idea.  The opening of the trailer reeks of 'The Devil Wears Prada', but by the end of it they had me hopeful that they could do the character and story justice.  Unfortunately, its already been stated that this show will have no connection to the DC movies, and another actor will be cast as Superman for his eventual appearance.  And while created by several people responsible for 'Arrow' and 'The Flash', no word on if they will crossover with 'Supergirl'.
