Boston Reporter Cites Flux Capacitor as Reason for Plane Crash

Apparently unfamiliar with 'Back to the Future', a Boston reporter may have been tricked into saying that a plane crash was caused by "what makes time travel possible".

Kathryn Burcham of Boston 25 was reporting on a plane crash in Hanson, Mass., and unwittingly became the victim of a joke by the pilot. Burcham reported that the pilot, 20-year-old Jacob Haselden, told her that the possible cause of the crash was a defective Flux Capacitor, which many know to be the fictional intention of Doc Brown from 'Back to the Future' that allows the Delorean to travel through time.

While some are wondering if the reporter simply misunderstood the name of a legitimate airplane instrument, the damage has been done and the clip has quickly gone viral.
