Making sure to service the “punk” portion of “pop-punk,” Blink-182 have just unleashed the new track “Generational Divide.” Take a listen to the song in the player below.

The track is a “blink and you might miss it” cut, clocking in at 50 seconds of high energy rock. Matt Skiba takes the vocal lead, while Mark Hoppus repeats the lyrics, “Is it better, is it better now? / Are we better, are we better now?” Through it all, Travis Barker pushes the track forward at a feverish, pit-stirring pace.

The band gave the song its live debut Thursday night (June 20) during a secret show for fans at USC’s Galen Center in Los Angeles. It was one of two new songs getting their live debut during the night, with the current single “Blame It On My Youth” also turning up during the encore portion of the evening. Both tracks are expected to turn up on the band’s forthcoming album, with details expected on the release shortly.

Blink-182 were gearing up for their summer tour with Lil’ Wayne and Neck Deep, getting in one final rehearsal. As previously reported, the trek will find the band celebrating the 20th anniversary of their Enema of the State album, while also working in a number of fan favorite tracks and a few rarities. See our recap and photos from the final rehearsal here and find out where you can see the band at this location.
