In these times of high inflation, more and more people are turning to thrift stores to stretch their dollars a little further. It’s a great way to save a few dollars and it’s also a cool experience. Kind of like a treasure hunt, if you will.

And I know people who would rather shop at thrift stores regardless of the economic climate. Those folks tend to be the ones who are more focused on finding some rare treasure at a discounted price.

Personally, I don’t typically shop for clothes at a thrift store. I’m usually looking for vinyl or sports memorabilia (which should not come as a shock if you know me). Since vinyl costs an arm and a leg these days, it’s just about the only way I buy records anymore.

While I enjoy the convenience of shopping at the resale shops here in Wichita Falls, I’m always down for a road trip – especially a day trip. You see, I’m one of those people who doesn’t sleep well in hotels or vacation rentals. So, I would much rather make a short trip so I can get back home and sleep in my own bed. 

That’s why I was pleased to see that Arlington is ranked as the best city in the Lone Star State for thrifting, according to a study conducted by Coupon Follow. In fact, Arlington is one of the best in the nation, ranked 6th overall.
