Ask anyone who’s been there about Cajun Fest, and they’ll probably get excited about it. Each year in downtown Wichita Falls, the festival takes place to the delight of those in attendance. It’s put on by Downtown Wichita Falls Development and the Elks Lodge #1105.

The event takes place this Saturday at the Farmer’s Market downtown, with gates opening up at noon. You’ll enjoy food, music, and activities, and it’s a great event for all ages.

If you’re like me and not down with biting the head of a crawfish, that’s alright. With the many food vendors at the event, you’re sure to find something that you’ll really like, and food prices are reasonable at just $2-$5 per item. They’ll have red beans & rice, etoufee, jambalaya, and even kettle corn among the many dishes.

For the kids, they’ll have a quad jump, games, crafts, and even a petting zoo.

Best of all, there’s music, music, music! The headliner of Cajun Fest is Gregg Martinez, an artist who was born, raised, and still lives in south Louisiana. Music will be heard during the duration of the event, adding an extra Cajun feel  to a very Cajun event.

For more information, visit the Downtown Wichita Falls Development site, and we’ll see you at Cajun Fest!
