Former Wichita Falls Police Officer FINALLY Receives Spine Surgery After Injury on the Job
This week is National Police Week and a former Wichita Fall police officer is in Washington DC talking about a non-profit that helped him get his much needed surgery.
Back on July 11, 2017 Tim Putney was called out to a residence in Wichita Falls about a family dispute. Apparently, a man was threatening to kill his grandmother. At one point Tim was trying to apprehend the suspect and went to the ground. When Tim went to the ground, he injured his back on a curb. That injury was so severe, he would need surgery and you would think this would be easy for an officer to get covered. It had been a headache for almost a DECADE.

Looks like Tim and The City of Wichita Falls had been going back and forth for YEARS to get his surgery and rehabilitation covered. You can read more on Tim's headache with the city above. Looks like Tim finally was able to get his surgery covered thanks to a non-profit called The Wounded Blue.
Wounded Blue Helps Wichita Falls Police Officer Get Much Needed Surgery
The Wounded Blue is a national organization dedicated exclusively to supporting law enforcement officers injured or disabled in the line of duty. Thanks to them and a surgeon in Virginia, Tim was able to get the surgeries he needed on his spine just last year.
