Long considered one of the Netherlands' best kept secrets, Within Temptation have had some success here in the States but they're looking to really break through with their latest single, 'Paradise (What About Us?)'.

The band recruited former Nightwish singer Tarja Turunen to contribute vocals on 'Paradise (What About Us?)', which appears on the EP of the same name as well us their upcoming full-length, Hydra. The new disc is due out February 4 and can be pre-ordered here.

According to Loudwire, the song was inspired by a speech given back in May by retired four-star general Peter van Uhm of the Royal Netherlands Army. Here's what frontwoman Sharon den Adel had to say about the tune:

His speech made a deep impression on us. His message being that the creation of a better world is only possible when you don’t think about ‘yourself’ or ‘them,’ but just think about ‘us'.

Just like the general's speech made a deep impression on Within Temptation, the band hope to make an impression on radio listeners with 'Paradise (What About Us?)'. Give the track a spin and tell us whether we should crank it or yank it.
