Wichita Falls Man Now a Guinness World Record Holder
Very cool that someone from right here in Wichita Falls is recognized as a world record holder.
If you're around my age, you definitely spent some time in your school library scrolling through the Guinness Book of World Records. We all remember the creepy guy with the ridiculously long finger nails. Turns out, Wichita Falls will be represented this year and it's someone that has been of great service to our community for many years.
Raymond Hager, Oldest Active Bus Driver in the World
Congratulations to Raymond Hager who has been driving a bus for the city of Wichita Falls since 1998. Raymond just turned 95-years-old and has a spotless driving record for the city on his routes. On June 1, 2025 the Guinness World Records officially recognized Raymond for his achievement at his age. Now Raymond's birthday was on Monday November 18th. The city officially recognized that day as Raymond Hager Day. Raymond told KFDX, he will keep driving as long as he is healthy.
Random Guinness World Record Holder in Burkburnett
I was curious if we had any other world records in our area and found a very strange one today. William Lawlis Pace was born in Burkburnett. When he was eight, he was shot in the head and miraculously survived. Doctors feared removing the bullet would kill him, so they just left it in. He lived to be 103-years-old. He lived for 94 years 175 days with a bullet lodged in his head, which is still the record to this day. You can read more about William here.
