
Wichita Falls Woman Killed by Police During Traffic Stop in Arizona
Several outlets are reporting that a Wichita Falls woman has been killed during a traffic stop this week.
Looks like on Memorial Day, a traffic stop happened in Benson, Arizona which is just southeast of Tucson. Arizona Highway Patrol State Troopers pulled over 39-year-old Berkleigh Jade Bond around 8 am on Memorial Day. No details have been released on what lead to the shooting death of the driver, but she has been identified as a Wichita Falls woman.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety says no one else was injured during the traffic stop and investigation is underway for what lead to the trooper to pull his weapon on the driver. According to Arizona outlet KOLD, this is the ninth time this year for an officer involved shooting in the state of Arizona. From details released on those other incidents, this is the first officer involved shooting of 2026 that happened during a traffic stop.
