Rotisserie Chicken Causes Fire at Wichita Falls Walmart
Those rotisserie chickens that are hot and ready make for a great quick dinner if you don't feel like cooking. Unfortunately they caused quite the headache for one of our local Walmarts this week.
Am I going crazy or is everything popping off at the Walmart off Greenbriar Road recently? Seems like back in the day the Walmart on Lawrence Road always had all the commotion. The Greenbriar Road location had a man expose himself inside the store a few weeks ago. Now it looks like the fire department had to pay the store a visit last night.
Rotisserie Chicken Warmer Catches Fire in Wichita Falls
Kristy Clemons-Pettigrew caught a photo of the warmer catching fire last night at the store. As you can see an employee used a fire extinguisher to put out the blaze. The machine was unplugged and the fire department was called to the scene to investigate. Wichita Falls Fire Marshal Craig Berend said the store was temporarily evacuated and all food product within the area will need to be thrown out.
Wichita Falls Fire Department Arrives on the Scene
Wayonett Dunn uploaded a video of the fire department arriving on the scene and it looks like members of the Wichita County Health Department also came out to ensure any contaminated food was properly disposed of. According to KAUZ, that rotisserie chicken warmer only costs $500. I would think that would be way more expensive. Now I want one for my house if it's that cheap. The store would eventually reopen last night. However, guests would have to walk a little further to the deli area if they wanted a rotisserie chicken.
