Wichita Falls Residents Bombarded With Misleading Letter
If you’ve recently received what appears to be an official letter from the City of Wichita Falls telling you that you need to carry ‘water line insurance’, don’t worry. It’s not anywhere close to ‘official’. According to a press release from Public Information Officer Barry Levy, the letter didn’t even originate here.
According to Levy, “A letter circulating to area homeowners promoting water line insurance is not a City program or a City requirement. The “official” looking letter from Home Service of Austin, Texas has caused some homeowners to contact the City to inquire as to why they are required to carry water line insurance. This insurance is not required for property owners in Wichita Falls. Citizens are urged to consult with their insurance provider and the Better Business Bureau for questions related to Home Service.”
