Starting next week, the Wichita Falls Public Library will be closed for two weeks.

Well when the library needs some upgrades, sadly they have to close down. Can't have an installation going on in quiet library. Starting on Monday (November 10, 2025) the Wichita Falls Public Library will be getting new carpet installed throughout the library. This means moving A LOT of books so this process will take some time. They're expecting to reopen on November 24th .

What Happens While the Wichita Falls Public Library is Closed?

Well good news for you if you have some books out right now. The book drop will be closed and no late fees will accrue on your books while this carpet installation is going on. So if you still need more time to finish some chapters, no need to worry about getting that book back on time, you have an extra two weeks to finish.

Wichita Falls Public Library Will Also Be Closed on Thanksgiving

To ensure that the library staff also gets to enjoy a nice Thanksgiving with friends and family. They will be closing at 5PM on November 26th. The library will be closed all day on November 27th and 28th as well.

Six Women Held in Wichita County for Attack at ICE Facility

These six women are currently on a federal hold in the Wichita County Jail as of September 23, 2025. They have been accused of planning an orchestrated attack at an ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas on the Fourth of July in 2025. You can read more on their case here.
