Wichita Falls High Schools Win Design Award in 2026 Magazine

Both Legacy and Memorial High School in Wichita Falls have been awarded in an annual magazine competition.

Back in August of 2024, our two new high schools opened in Wichita Falls. Legacy and Memorial are technically identical campuses but the design of these new facilities is being praised in American School and University Magazine. The magazine has a list of annual awards they give out and our two schools have won for 'best design'.

Wichita Falls High Schools Nominated for Design Award

The Huckabee Group, along with BYSP Architects helped design the two new high schools in Wichita Falls. Here is what The Huckabee Group said about some of the unique features of the school. "The resulting design strategically re-purposes a portion of classroom space into common areas and emphasizes multi-purpose use in typical and atypical ways (such as an auditorium that can be split into six lecture halls)."

The American Schools and University Magazine's digital edition will be releasing soon and it will feature both of our Wichita Falls high schools. It was back in 2021, we got our first look at what these new high schools were going to look like and it's pretty cool that all the hard work that went into the design is now winning some awards.
