An organization that has been helping dogs in law enforcement get proper protection has decided to hook up one at the Wichita County Sheriff's Office.

Since 2009, Vested Interests in K9's has been donating to help dogs in law enforcement. Through ballistic vests, opioid reversal NARCAN Kits, medical insurance for dogs, and e-collars. They have helped literally thousands of dogs throughout the country and it looks like Duke with the Wichita County Sheriff's Office just received a ballistic vest.

We all probably remember the former Sheriff in Wichita Falls David Duke, who retired last August. The new Duke with the Wichita County Sherriff's Office is the K-9 unit pictured above with their new vest from Vested Interests in K9's. The vests cost around $1,800, which starts to add up for all those K-9 units across the country. That is where Vested Interests in K9's comes in to help departments out.

K-9 Unit Duke Replaced the Recently Retired Officer Jynx

Duke has been on the job for a few months now and has some big paws to fill in. The former K-9 unit named Jynx helped get 136,000 grams of illegal narcotics off the streets in Wichita County with her seven years with the Sheriff's Office.

Donate to Vested Interests in K9's

Vested Interests in K9's of course takes donations and does fundraising events throughout the year to help get more equipment to K-9 units. One of the easiest ways to donate is to buy one of their calendars, where every month they show off dog who got one of their donated vests. You can check those out above and get more info on their website.
