Storm chasers have shared video footage of the tornado that formed near Sterling City, Texas, on Saturday, April 19.

If you’re on X, I highly recommend giving Reed Timmer a follow if you’re a weather nerd like me. He is constantly sharing videos from his chases across Tornado Alley and beyond.

I spend a lot of time watching his clips because, as I alluded to earlier, I’m fascinated by weather. I’m also a total chicken who would never knowingly chase a tornado.

Don’t get me wrong – I'm a typical Texan, so I go outside and take a look as soon as the weather starts to get bad. However, I need to be near a shelter so I can quickly duck inside as soon as things get a little too rough.

That said, Dr. Timmer’s Dominators are basically rolling storm shelters/research laboratories, so he and his team can roll right into the middle of a storm and collect data like never before. I can’t applaud them enough for their efforts to save lives.

Fortunately, the tornado that formed near Sterling City was on the ground in a remote, largely unpopulated area, according to SanAngeloLive. That was one powerful looking storm that would have resulted in some serious damage had it hit a more populated area.
