Turkey Day Taking Over Black Friday

USA Today is reporting that Toys R Us will now open at 9:00 on Thanksgiving night. This is an hour earlier than last year and an hour before Walmart is scheduled to kick off thier “Black Friday” on a Thursday night specials.
It kind of makes sense to me that the stores would open at nine or ten as opposed to having people get up at four or five. It also makes sense that you might want to walk off a little of that turkey dinner. I’m just not a big fan of not giving the Thanksgiving holiday a little “room to breathe” before we jump right into another holiday. I wish all these “sale-abrations” could start on December 1st or later. I guess that’s just me. Do you go out shopping early? Do you think we’re starting too early?
