The three time Super Bowl Champion and the current Ravens starting quarterback are fighting in court right now.

Looking at Lamar Jackson and Troy Aikman, you wouldn't think the two have a lot in common. Other than both being NFL quarterbacks. The two players careers are literally separated by decades, so why are they currently in a legal battle?

Who Has the Right to the Number Eight?

That's right, the two are fighting over the number eight. Which both of them have worn on their jerseys. Jackson's attorney says his trademarks of these sayings using the number were registered before Aikman's "Eight" and that the products from Aikman's company are "highly similar in sound, appearance, connotation, and commercial impression" to Jackson's trademarks, according to ESPN.

The main problem appears to be with these two is the beer that Troy Aikman came out with a few years ago.

According to Jackson's attorneys, they believe consumers are confused when folks see the number eight. Jackson "has expended considerable time, effort, and expense in promoting, advertising, and popularizing the number 8 in connection with his personality and fame" and "is well-known by this number due to his notoriety and fame, along with his promotion of this number in his trademarks and in media coverage," according to the appeals.

Lamar Jackson is Not the Most Famous 8 in Baltimore

This is truly one of the dumbest lawsuits ever. Maybe these two can come to some sort of agreement where Lamar can own a purple 8 and Troy can own a blue 8? I have no idea, but if Lamar thinks people think of him with the number 8. I can assure you as someone who grew up in Baltimore, you're not even the most famous 8 in the city.
