Thrashman’s Metal Pick Of The Week

This week I gotta go with Atlanta's Becoming The Archetype and their new album Celestial Completion. The fourth offering from the band is an excellent display of how to mix it up...there are elements of death metal, metalcore and even jazz (complete with a horn section). The vocals are every bit as varied as the guys trade off from death metal growls to a straight forward hardcore shout on to clean vocals that are incredible. One thing the band has going for them is the ability to write hooks...both vocally and musically. The highlights for me on this album are "The Magnetic Sky", All three parts of "Requiem Aeturnum" and "Cardiac Rebellion". I highly recommend this if you're into bands like Dead To Fall, Killswitch Engage or Darkest Hour.
