A North Texas UPS driver crashed his delivery truck after passing out due to heat exhaustion.

The video below shows the moment after the truck crossed over the grass median and into oncoming traffic before veering off the road and crashing into a tree. The incident happened on Friday, August 16 on Highway 121 north of McKinney, according to NBC DFW.

The situation could have been much worse as the truck barely missed a car that was in the opposite lane. The UPS driver was taken to the hospital after the incident and was released on Saturday.

In a statement, the labor union, Teamsters Local 767, claims the employee reported that he was experiencing heat-related symptoms and was told to drive back to the McKinney facility:

The company once again did not follow their own recharge guidelines and asked the driver to drive himself in. This is unacceptable.

UPS is currently working with authorities to investigate the incident.
