Texas Security Guard Quits Job During Live TV Interview
A security guard in Texas quit his job during a TV interview after his boss interrupted.
According to The Daily Mail, Percy Payne, a security guard with Priebe Security was working at an office building at East Sixth and Brushy in Austin when he spotted two men on electric scooters entering the parking garage.
He thought the men were trying to steal his car, so he attempted to detain them and call the police. The men became aggressive and started hitting him.

Payne was able to keep them from stealing his car, with the suspects eventually fleeing the scene. He was fine following the incident and didn’t require medical attention.
However, things went from bad to worse for Payne while describing the incident in an interview with a local TV station. In the video below, you see his boss interrupt the interview to tell him the company doesn’t allow employees to do interviews in uniform, but that he can speak as a “private citizen.”
Afterward, you see him in street clothes, continuing the interview as a “private citizen.” His boss, who was initially supportive and apologetic for what he had gone through, turns on him and tells him the incident was his fault for touching one of the men first.
Payne has since started a GoFundMe to help him get by while in between jobs.
