Sadly a horse that meant a lot to the folks at this Wichita Falls business was sadly destroyed this weekend.

Since 2007, several horses have gone up in Wichita Falls raising funds for different organizations in our area. Throughout Wichita Falls, you can spot over seventy of these horses that are a part of The Mane Event Project. You can check out many of them at the bottom of this story. Sadly, one of them was vandalized over the weekend.

Texas Oncology Horse Vandalized Over the Weekend

Texas Oncology shared that their horse statue was found lying over. These statues all over Wichita Falls are made of fiberglass. Many local artists have put a lot of time into making these special pieces of art. This horse however was named 'Hope' and was actually painted by a Texas Oncology worked who survived cancer. Her name is Nell Nations.

Nell not only works at Texas Oncology, she also beat colon cancer herself. The statue has become a photo opportunity for many after finishing their cancer treatments at this facility since it was installed.

Wichita Falls Police Currently Investigating Vandalism

Wichita Falls police are reviewing camera footage in the area to see if they can spot who caused this statue to get damaged. As of right now, the person responsible would be charged with criminal mischief, according to KFDX. If you possibly know who was responsible for damaging this statue, you can call Wichita Falls Crime Stoppers at  (940) 322-9888. If your tips leads to an arrest, you could get a cash reward.

Six Women Held in Wichita County for Attack at ICE Facility

These six women are currently on a federal hold in the Wichita County Jail as of September 23, 2025. They have been accused of planning an orchestrated attack at an ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas on the Fourth of July in 2025. You can read more on their case here.
