Study Says This Is Texas’ Favorite Ice Cream — I’m Not Buying It

A new study revealed the most popular ice cream brand in each state, and I’ve never even heard of the most popular in Texas. And I would be willing to bet money there’s a good chance you’ll disagree with the results. As a lifelong Texan, I’m having a hard time believing it. 

Seriously – what's the first brand that pops into your head when you think about the brand of ice cream we Texans love? It’s Blue Bell, of course. Just like Whataburger and Buc-ee's, Texas’s love for Blue Bell is well documented.

The Study That Sparked an Ice Cream Debate

That’s why I was dumbfounded when I saw the results of the study conducted by Coffeeness. According to the folks over there, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is the most popular ice cream brand in the Lone Star State. 

Don’t get me wrong – I have nothing against Jeni’s. I just visited their website for the first time, and it looks great. I’m looking forward to trying some for the first time. But there’s no way it’s the most popular brand in our neck of the woods.

Could the Study Actually Be Right?

I guarantee that if you were to approach random Texans and ask them what their favorite ice cream brand is, the answer would almost universally be Blue Bell. In fact, my best guess is that very few of those folks have even heard of Jeni’s. Of course, there’s always the chance that I’m just plain wrong. However, I highly doubt it.
