Texas Civil War Museum Announces Closure

If you were unaware, Fort Worth was home to the Texas Civil War Museum.The museum opened in 2006 with the mission to collect and preserve artifacts relating to the history of the American Civil War and the role Texas played in the conflict. The museum interprets the collection to the public through the use of exibits, educational programs and publications. Sadly, the museum announced they would be closing for good in just under two months.

Texas Civil War Museum to Close on October 31

The museum supposedly has the largest Civil War collection west of the Mississippi. Well it looks like a vast majority of the collection will be going to auction and you can bid on the items in an upcoming auction. An antique shop out of Gettysburg is supposedly taking care of the items once the museum closes at the end of October. You can bid on certain items if you're a history collector, keep an eye out on the Horse Soldier Facebook page for more.
