Down guitarist Kirk Windstein, a busy man who is also a member of Crowbar and Kingdom of Sorrow, checked in via the band’s Facebook page to offer a short and sweet update on the much anticipated upcoming EP, which is set to drop like a 10-ton hammer later this year. It’s tentatively titled ‘Down IV.’

Woody Weatherman might be the coolest mofo walkin' this planet. Scratch that - he IS the coolest mofo on the planet and he was kind enough to dial me up on the BuzzLine for last Saturday's (2/18) edition of The Oath to talk up the release of the new self-titled album among other things. In not so surprising news Rex Brown has confirmed that he is no longer with Down. He had this to say to Patrick Musumeche in an interview with 8countnews.com over the weekend: I'm officially out of the band. Things came to a head and they're better off doing what they're doing...

Former Pantera and current Down frontman Phil Anselmo took a blow to the head from Pepper Keenan's guitar during "Lifer" (which he dedicated to his former bandmate Dimebag Darrell) at Best Buy Theater in NYC last Thursday night (4/28). Although the wound looks pretty gnarly and Phil loses quite a bit of blood the show goes on in true metal fashion...
