Mice Incidents at Sonic on Kemp Boulevard

If you have not seen the video above posted a few weeks ago at this point claiming to be at the Sonic on Kemp Boulevard in Wichita Falls. Many were hoping it was fake. By fake, I mean not here in Wichita Falls. This is clearly some mice running wild at a Sonic somewhere. I called over to the Wichita County Health District once the video started going viral, they said they were aware of it and it's being investigated. Looks like we now have our answer.

The restaurant inspection had 18 total violations, which you can read in full on the Wichita County Health District website. Here are the ones when it comes to rodent issues at the restaurant.

• Observation: Observed rodent feces in dry storage area, on the soda fountain, under the back hand washing sink, and under the three compartment sink. Also observed flies in drink prep area and a strong odor in the back of the kitchen by the three compartment sink.
• Observation: Observed rodent feces under shelves in dry storage area, by the back hand washing sink, and by the three compartment sink. New holes developed in ceiling to allow pest entry.
• Observation: Observed rodent feces on a package of napkins that is exposed to contamination.
• Observation: Observed two holes in ceiling tiles that must be repaired to prevent pest entry.
• Observation: Floors are damaged, not cleanable, and collecting water that can attract pests.

Wichita County Health District's Notice to Sonic on Kemp

Managers/Owners Tanna and Danny were given a notice of permit suspension by Environmental Health Administrator, Samantha Blair, during inspection and were instructed to close the establishment and cease all operations. Notices of closure by the health department signs were posted on the doors.
