Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls is celebrating their 75th anniversary this year and it’s also the 35th anniversary of the Euro NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program, or ENJJPT for short. Sheppard is celebrating the two anniversaries with an open house and air show in September. It’s the first air show at Sheppard since 2011.

The open house and air show will take place September 17-18 at Sheppard AFB. This show will feature some of the best air acrobatics acts in the world, such as Tora Tora Tora -- the Pearl Harbor re-enactment team, the Viper Air Show and, of course, the Air Force Thunderbirds.

Admission to the air show is free, and the event will feature static aircraft displays, a kid’s zone, and a concert headlined by Pat Green.

Gates will open at 9:00 a.m. on both days and the air show will begin at 11:30 a.m. The Pat Green concert will begin one hour after the last air show performance on Saturday, Sept. 17.

The public entrance will be the ‘Hospital Gate.' Those with military and DoD contractor ID’s may enter at the ‘Main Gate.’
