This thing has been in the works for over a decade, but now it's time to get to work on one for Dallas.

Back in 2011, the Detroit Mayor put on Twitter what the citizens were looking to improve within Detroit. One user responded, "Philadelphia has a statue of Rocky & Robocop would kick Rocky's butt. He's a GREAT ambassador for Detroit." The mayor said they have no plans for a Robocop statue and then the internet decided to build one themselves. A kickstarter campaign raised $67,436 in under a week.

The actor who played Robocop even commented on the potential statue in 2011 saying how he stood behind the idea. Well after a legal battle with MGM, who owns the rights to Robocop, and a long design process. The statue is officially up in Detroit for all to enjoy.
