In fact, only nineteen theaters in the entire country are offering this.

What is a 70mm Movie?

This week it is the battle of 'Barbie' and 'Oppenheimer' at the box office and you may hear the term 70mm being thrown around for 'Oppenheimer'. What is this format? 70mm is a film format with frames that are larger in size and wider in aspect ratio. Basically it's comparable to watching a DVD versus a Blu-ray in simple terms.

70mm IMAX!

Things get even crazier once you add IMAX into the picture and only nineteen theaters in the entire United States of America offer 70mm IMAX. One of them is just a few hours away from us. Cinemark 17 in Dallas at 11819 Webb Chapel Road.

Check Out the Crazy Reel Below

^I think this footage is actually shot in Dallas because according to the IMAX website, no other Cinemark is offering the 70mm IMAX version in America. Director of the movie Christopher Nolan has stated that the 70mm version is the best way to experience the film. So if you just see it in IMAX, it won't be the same. I mean they literally recreate an atomic bomb going off without the use of CGI. I can only imagine what that would like to its full potential.

Every Theater in the Country Offering This Format

That's everywhere in America and only 11 other theaters in the entire world are offering this. I would say if you can find away to make a trip to Dallas to check it out before it's gone, it would be worth it.
