Why Could We See the Northern Lights in Wichita Falls Last Night?
According to Weather.com, a powerful geomagnetic storm is the reason the Northern Lights traveled so far South. A 'coronal mass ejection' from the sun's surface arrives in Earth's atmosphere. The ejection that caused the brilliant activity on Nov. 11 erupted from the sun earlier in the week. You can read more about this event here.

This Event Could Affect Communications and GPS Today
The Space Weather Prediction Center says that this geomagnetic storm that occurred could have some affect today on people's communications and GPS technology. They also go onto say that another event like last night could travel south again. We will have to wait and see if Wichita Falls gets another beautiful show tonight.
