Nonpoint guitarist BC Kochmit announced Monday (August 12) that he'll step down from his position as a touring member of the Florida-based rockers following their concerts this month. However, he will remain with the band in a writing and recording capacity. The group will continue touring without him in the fall.

Kochmit cited family, financial and health issues as the main reasons behind his touring departure. The musician first joined Nonpoint in 2014 when he replaced guitarist Dave Lizzio. Read both Kochmit's and the band's statements down toward the bottom of the page.

"It is with an extremely heavy heart that I must face the reality that after the Taste Of Madison show on August 30th it is finally time for me to step down and retire from touring full time," the guitarist said.

The band added, via their own statement, "Touring and being away from family is hard for us all. For BC it's gotten too hard for him to continue touring and being away from his family. He will be deeply missed but we all understand his decision and ask our fans to respect this decision as it did not come easy."

Later, they clarified, "Please know that we support this 100 percent and fear not he will still write and record music with us. … However he will be not be going on tour."

Nonpoint are currently out on the road in the U.S. with Hellyeah supporting their "Welcome Home" tour. Below, see the band's upcoming tour dates, which are their final five shows with Kochmit as guitarist.
