Good News Dog Owners, Wichita Falls Getting a Second Dog Park
If you love the dog park off Fairway Boulevard, another similar park will be opening in another part of Wichita Falls.
Find Out Where the New Dog Park in Wichita Falls is Going Below
Back in 2011, Wichita Falls unveiled a brand new off the leash dog park. Just in case you have never been. It's located at 5205 Fairway Boulevard. It has spaces for small and large dogs (dogs over 30 pounds) to play. The park even has a few obstacles for the dogs to enjoy as well. It's open seven days a week from dawn til dusk for your four legged friends to enjoy.
Conoco Park to Add Second Dog Park to Wichita Falls
The city has several different sizes of parks and Conoco Park is considered a mini park. Which means it's between .1 and 5 acres of space. This park currently located just off Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will soon look very similar to the current dog park off of Fairway. The city says they have had requests for a second dog park for several years now and they hope this location will help citizens on this side of town with a shorter drive for their dogs to stretch their legs.
Good News, Taxes Not Going Up Because of the Dog Park
The first thing that everyone always asks with any new construction within the city is, 'How much is this going to cost me?' This project is actually being put on through a Community Development Block Grant and will not result in any tax increases for residents, according to KAUZ.
Construction will start next month at Conoco Park and they expect the dog park to be open by the end of October.
