Wichita Falls Park Adding Trail Showing Miniature Local Landmarks
According to a Wichita Falls committee member, this would be the first attraction like this in the United States.
Some very cool changes will be coming to Kiwanis Park in Wichita Falls by hopefully next summer. The park located just off of Southwest Parkway has been approved to grant 15 acres of the park for a non-profit. They plan on adding something called 'Miniature Wonders'.
New Wichita Falls Attraction Based Off the Netherlands, Madurodam
Committee member Donna Adams told KFDX, she got inspiration from Madurodam in the Netherlands and Beekonscot in the United Kingdom. These exhibits show off the history of those particular regions and it looks like one will be built showing off Wichita Falls.
Here is What United Kingdom's Beekonscot Looks Like
What Can We Expect to See in the Wichita Falls Miniature Wonders?
Looking at some examples of the models above. Looks like the starting line for the Hotter'N Hell Hundred will be included, a fighter jet from Sheppard Air Force Base, and the historic Holt Hotel could be featured as well. The Kemp Center for the Arts is making 300 models for this project that is expected to be completed by June 2026.
Any Chance We Get Some Rides?
In doing research on these other parks located in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Along with their miniature parks they have actual rides. In the Netherlands they have something called 'Windjager' and in the United Kingdom they have a train you can actually ride. Maybe one day we can get some rides going in Wichita Falls? One can hope.
