While Metallica have a lot of dates on the calendar for 2022, their first show of the year didn't come until near the end of February. On Friday, Feb. 25, Metallica filled Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for a massive show that definitely set the tone for what fans can expect from their upcoming gigs.

Metallica have already released the full show for download and streaming, and now they've shared a fully pro-shot live video of their performance of "Wherever I May Roam." You can watch it below.

Watch Metallica Perform "Wherever I May Roam" in Las Vegas

This was the 809th time Metallica brought "Wherever I May Roam" out onto the stage. The first time they debuted it for a live audience was on Oct. 12, 1991, at the Day on the Green festival in Oakland. The official single was released a week after that performance and is backed with a live track of "Fade to Black," recorded at their infamous Tushino Airfield show in Moscow.

During the Vegas show, "Wherever I May Roam" was played after Hardwired...to Self-Destruct's "Moth Into Flame" and into Ride the Lightning's "For Whom the Bell Tolls." You can check out the full setlist and exclusive photos of the concert here.

Metallica have two stadium dates left on their 2022 calendar for now: Highmark Stadium in Buffalo, N.Y., on Aug. 11, and PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Aug. 14. Greta Van Fleet and Ice Nine Kills will support Metallica at these shows; both acts also provided support in Vegas.
