Long-Time Wichita Falls Staple Pioneer Restaurant Abruptly Closes Down for Good

UPDATE: New Southern Eatery to Open in Wichita Falls in Place of Recently Closed Pioneer

A Wichita Falls staple shut its doors for the last time this afternoon.

We were able to confirm with an employee of the restaurant that Pioneer of Texas restaurant on Southwest Parkway closed down for good as of 3:00 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 26). He said he had no advance notice and was informed of the closure when he arrived at work today.

There’s no word yet as to why they closed.

However, those who are looking to get their Pioneer fix can still get it at the Maplewood location, which remains open at this time. Employees of the Southwest Parkway location have reportedly been moved to the Maplewood location as well.
