Man Claims Texas Cybertruck Needs a Safety Recall [VIDEO]
One man claims his Cybertruck started accelerating out of nowhere the other day and he thinks the issue could potentially kill somebody.
Could Austin, Texas See a Massive Safety Recall for Cybertrucks?
We know that Austin is home to the Tesla Gigafactory. This particular building makes several things for the Tesla corporation. However, they're the exclusive home to one of the Tesla products. The Cybertruck.
Driving around a truck in Texas is nothing new, but nothing gets more people checking out your truck than driving one of these things around. I won't lie, I have definitely got caught staring at a few driving around town. Well one man claims his Cybertruck had a massive issue this weekend when it started accelerating out of nowhere.
The Issue? The Accelerator Became Wedged
Tik Tok user El Chepito 1985 shared this video over the weekend of an issue he had while driving. Apparently the accelerator in a Cybertruck has this panel that actually goes over the accelerator itself. The panel slipped off and became wedged underneath forcing the vehicle to accelerate to its max speed. The good news is that the brake pedal negates the accelerator. So this guy was able to get it to stop. However, he admits he could not figure out why it was doing this because as soon as he let off the brakes, it accelerated to max speed again. He was able to get the vehicle in park and that is when he realized the accelerator was wedged in his Cybertruck.
Could This Video Lead to a Cybertruck Recall?
Obviously we can't have vehicles with their accelerators getting wedged, but we will see what happens with these trucks in the future. I imagine that little panel that slips on will be getting some glue or screws in future models to prevent them from slipping off. As always with safety recalls, I always remember this quote in Fight Club.
