Listen to a Previously Unreleased Piano Version of Guns N’ Roses ‘November Rain’ from 1986
Guns N' Roses have dropped a previously unreleased stripped-down "piano version" of their epic ballad "November Rain" that was recorded in 1986. The Sound City Session take of track, which can be listened to above, comes from the band's Appetite for Destruction reissue and the Locked N' Loaded box set which comes out tomorrow (June 29).
"November Rain" first officially appeared on the band's Use Your Illusion I LP which came out in 1991. It was released as a single in February of 1992 and has since gone on to become one of the group's signature songs. This version features frontman Axl Rose unaccompanied on piano with sparse backing vocals.
The Appetite for Destruction: Locked N' Loaded box set retails for $999 and is limited to just 10,000 units worldwide. The set includes a 96-page hardcover book filled with previously unreleased photos from Rose's personal archive, four CDs totaling 73 tracks, 49 of which were previously unreleased (see the track listing below), lithographs, rings, buttons, patches, a turntable mat, plenty of vinyl, replica ticket stubs and a lot more. The set can be purchased at this location.
It's been a busy month in the Guns N' Roses camp, as Rose, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan joined the Foo Fighters for a performance of "It's So Easy" during the latter's set at the Firenze Rocks Festival in Florence, Italy. June also saw them break out "Shadow of Your Love" live, a song from the Appetite for Destruction era that hasn't been played in more than 30 years. And GNR also covered the Velvet Revolver hit "Slither" in concert.
Guns will spend parts of June and July on tour in Europe, while an Asian leg of the "Not in This Lifetime" tour is slated for November. See all of their remaining tour stops here.
