The new Miami Dolphins draft pick is back home this week and will celebrating The Fourth of July in downtown Wichita Falls.

This Saturday we celebrate 250 years of America's Independence and a lot of celebrations will be going on across the country. For us in Wichita Falls, the big event is at the MPEC. They have a lot going down Saturday, but a new addition was just announced last night. Former Rider Raider Quarterback Jacob Rodriguez will be getting a special presentation Saturday night.

Looks like the MPEC has an update to their schedule with Jacob Rodriguez getting a special presentation around 8:05 pm. Jacob had an amazing senior season with Texas Tech which lead to the Miami Dolphins selecting him in the second round with the 43rd pick. Looks like Miami Dolphins training camp starts July 21st for rookies. So Jacob decided to come home before he starts his first NFL Season.

Friendly Reminder Do Not Call Wichita Falls Police About Fireworks

My annual plea to not clog up the emergency line about someone shooting off fireworks on The Fourth of July. If someone is injured, property is damaged, or a fire has started. That is when you call 911. Have a safe and Happy Fourth of July! Hopefully on Sunday you have the same amount of fingers you had on Saturday.
