I could’ve sworn it’s pronounced EYE-neh-muh.

But nope, in an interview conducted in 1996 and uploaded to YouTube in 2013, Adam Jones clarified the pronunciation to be ON-eh-muh and goes into what exactly it means. Check it out:

While I do take a slight bit of comfort in knowing the radio host also pronounced it the same way as I have been, mispronouncing words is a bit of a pet peeve of mine. Not to mention I engaged in several debates over the years with fellow Tool fans who thought it was pronounced En-eh-muh. Turns out we were all wrong all along.
