I saw a tweet this morning that has me asking several questions and I hate to break the news to this poor guy.

Four Hour Detour for Wichita Falls Dairy Queen

So my algorithm pretty much gives me people talking about Wichita Falls all the time and I randomly got this guy who claimed he drove four hours out of his way to come to Wichita Falls for our Dairy Queen. Don't get me wrong, I am always down for a blizzard. I'm not driving FOUR HOURS to get one though. So why do I want to reach out to this guy?

"Wichita Falls is the Greatest Place I Have Been in My Life"-Bobby Hill

Honestly that should just be the billboard riding into our town. Screw the 'blue skies, golden opportunities' slogan. Bobby Hill's quote would get the people going. I guess this King of the Hill fan wanted to feel the magic that Bobby felt on this day back in 1999. I hate to break it to this guy. The Wichita Falls Dairy Queen did not exist back in 1999. I think that creator Mike Judge assumed Wichita Falls had one because EVERY Texas town has a Dairy Queen. Sadly at this time, the closest one to us was in Holiday.

I decided to see if other King of the Hill fans have made their way to Wichita Falls just to eat at the 'special' Dairy Queen and found this post from four months ago on Reddit. So I guess people want to actually visit us because of this.Everyone thought I was crazy when I wanted to call one of our new high schools Tom Landry high because of crazy King of the Hill fans.

Some dude drove four hours for ice cream. You don't think King of the Hill fans would have bought Tom Landry high shirts? Still mad we didn't do that.
