Word spread quickly around Wichita Falls yesterday that ICE was in the area looking for undocumented immigrants.

ICE Agents Perform Sweep Throughout Wichita Falls Tuesday and Wednesday

Immigration and Customs Enforcement or as many know them, ICE had some of their agents in Wichita Falls looking for undocumented immigrants. Apparently the agency got word that a local restaurant had workers that had entered the country illegally. Ten in total were apprehended at an apartment complex in Wichita Falls. Sheriff David Duke with the Wichita County Sheriff's Office confirmed that ICE was in town with the Times Record News.

Sheriff David Duke also confirmed another five individuals were arrested during a traffic stop this week and were apprehended by ICE. Sheriff Duke said, that none of the individuals that were here illegally were taken to the Wichita County Jail, instead ICE has taken them to Dallas for processing. Sheriff Duke told Times Record News his department only helped out with the fifteen arrested this week.

Just last month, the acting director of ICE, Todd Lyons was sharing that in a 100 day period 66,463 illegal aliens were arrested by ICE agents throughout the country. He claims three out of four of those arrested were criminal aliens. "Including 2,288 gang members from Tren de Aragua, MS-13, 18th Street and other gangs. Additionally, 1,329 were accused or convicted of sex offenses, and 498 were accused or convicted of murder.”

We will wait and see if more ICE arrests happen in Wichita Falls.
